Revised Travel Allowance Rates Notification 2023
The Finance Division of Pakistan’s Government issued a Notification on August 6th, 2023, regarding the updated rates for Travel and Mileage Allowance for Federal Employees in 2023. The revised allowances will be applicable starting from July 1st, 2023. Here are the particulars:
The Punjab administration, in agreement with the finance department, opts to modify the stipends for travel and distance for all state employees. This augmentation in travel and mileage benefits applies to all personnel laboring in governmental sectors within the Punjab region.
Pakistan’s head of state chooses to authorize updated mileage rates applicable to government officials and officers during domestic duty.
- The current motor car rates stand at Rs. 5. Following the update, the revised motor car rate is Rs. 7.5 per kilometer.
- For motorcycles and scooters, the current rate is Rs. 2.5 per kilometer. The government modifies this rate to Rs. 3.75 per kilometer.
- Formerly, the rate for personal cars or taxis was Rs. 10 per kilometer, which post-revision increases to rupees 15 per kilometer.
- The existing Mileage Allowance rate for motorcycles is Rs. 10 per kilometer. After the revision, there’s a Rs. 5 increase, making the new rate Rs. 15 per kilometer.
- The current bicycle rate is Rs. 02 per kilometer, while the new rate becomes Rs. 03 per kilometer.
- The current air travel rate for government servants in basic pay scale 17 and above is Rs. 0.02 per kg per kilometer. The updated rate is Rs. 0.03 per KG per kilometer.
