Contour Software, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., is looking for a Junior Software Developer to join its R&D team in Islamabad, working with the Constellation Data Labs division. The division brings together scattered property data into one live stream used by real estate, mortgage, appraisal and insurance companies. The role starts with a 3 to 3.5-month training programme focused on enterprise-level applications built on AWS, with a strong chance of full-time employment afterwards for candidates who perform well.
What we're looking for:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
- Good skills in at least one programming language such as C#, Java, Go or Python, with C# preferred
- A basic grasp of the five pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
- Familiarity with AWS services including S3, Step Functions, Lambda and EC2
- Understanding of web services, APIs, REST and cloud storage concepts
- Strong written and spoken English, including the ability to write clear technical documents
- A fast learner who enjoys solving problems and works well alone and in a team
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Take part in hands-on project work and training focused on cloud architecture and AWS applications
- Own small parts of larger projects, helping with their design and build
- Work through the full software development life cycle, from planning and requirements to development, testing and quality checks
- Work with engineers to write unit tests, automate releases and run performance testing
- Build reporting pages, dashboards and tools that track service availability and uptime
- Spot waste in AWS usage and suggest better practices to bring monthly costs down
