What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering or Technology
- At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in AI, machine learning or related technology fields
- Proven leadership of AI strategy or governance with measurable outcomes
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing executive stakeholders
- Track record of taking complex technology initiatives into implementation
- Consulting or professional-services experience in AI transformation is a plus
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Build and lead the Authority's AI governance capability and strategy for public services
- Develop risk-based standards and assurance processes for AI adoption in government
- Define approaches for impact assessment, transparency, fairness, explainability and human oversight
- Prioritise the government AI use-case portfolio with service owners and assess public value
- Guide AI initiatives from evaluation and pilots through deployment and monitoring
- Set evaluation requirements for AI models and suppliers, including generative AI
- Advise on national AI capability, compute, model strategy and procurement needs
- Build the AI team and institutional capability across government departments
